Affiliate Marketing Exposed (Seriously!)

It is based on a lengthy comment by a successful marketer who was contributing to a discussion at the Warrior Forum. It's where internet marketers hang out. New folks ask questions. Old hands answer. And clever people learn.

Anyhow the topic being discussed was: What's best? -- affiliate marketing or product creation? Naturally there were keen advocates on both sides.

For me the most eloquent argument came from one chap, a highly successful marketer. Let's call him "Mr.A". If you've been around the Internet Marketing scene for any time, you'd probably know his real name if I mentioned it.

Mr.A. shared the fact that he had paid out a FIVE FIGURE SUM in affiliate commissions last month. That means his affiliates had sold at least $20,000 of his products last month (assuming he pays 50% commissions which I believe he does).

Or perhaps a great deal more than 20K.

With sales figures like this, and the fact that he uses his own name at the Warrior forum (he is not hiding behind a pseudonym), Mr.A. has a ton of credibility.

So I paid especial attention to what he EXPOSED. Here are the key points in my words:

* Product owners would prefer you focus on affiliate marketing because that way you will promote their products.

* Product owners do not want new competition, so they encourage you to promote their stuff rather than creating your own products.

Wow.

Did you catch that?

The big promoters of affiliate marketing are feathering their own nests - and, despite any sales rhetoric, it is not about what is best for YOU.

Mr.A. also made the point that his highest earning affiliates all have their own products or services or they are experts.

His recommendation then is that you create your own products/services and supplement the income that comes from them with affiliate recommendations. But creating your own products comes a clear first.
